Understanding Your Sunscreen Options

Sun exposure and hot weather are two of the top three self-reported rosacea triggers, and using sunscreen is essential for avoiding flare-ups. Above all, the best sunscreen is the one that you will use regularly. However, even though 57% of Americans report taking steps to protect their skin from the sun, one-third still got a sunburn in the past year, according to recent data from the American Academy of Dermatology. In other words, even if you wear sunscreen regularly, it’s possible you may need to update your sun protection routine.

Gabapentin May Provide Relief from Neurogenic Rosacea

Neurogenic rosacea is a less common form of the disease that may be mistaken for erythematotelangiectatic rosacea (ETR), formerly referred to as subtype 1. The two subtypes share persistent facial redness and flushing as their primary signs. However, ETR sufferers are more likely to have dry, itchy skin, while those with neurogenic rosacea experience intense burning and stinging sensations that won’t go away.1

Track Triggers with National Rosacea Society’s Updated Rosacea Diary

The National Rosacea Society has introduced an updated version of the “Rosacea Diary,” a booklet containing diary pages to help patients identify and avoid their personal rosacea triggers – such as certain foods, weather, physical activity and skin-care products. The updated diary streamlines and modernizes the design for ease of use and incorporates a new and more robust checklist.
