Tips for Looking and Feeling Great at Summer Weddings

wedding tipsSummer weddings mean fun, family, great food, and even better weather. They can also come with a whole buffet of common rosacea triggers. Here are some tips to help you have a worry-free event.

Know your triggers. Look back at your Rosacea Diary. Champagne makes you flush? Toast with seltzer. Tomatoes a no-go? Choose chicken instead of pasta. Dancing heats you up? Bring a fold-up fan for a stylish way to cool down without sitting down.

Manage stress. If you’re giving a speech or toast, practice in front of a mirror to feel confident in your words. Ask someone to watch so you get used to the attention. Try slow breathing exercises before it’s your time to speak. And make sure you get a good night’s sleep!

Stay cool. Outdoor weddings can mean flare-ups from heat and sun. Wear sunscreen and reapply throughout daylight hours. Think about incorporating a hat into your outfit, at least when in direct sunlight. And if you feel a flush coming on – chew some ice or run a cloth under cold water to use as a compress.

Bring an emergency skin care kit. You’re in for a long day of celebrating, so put together a small kit of skin care products that you love and trust. You can get empty travel-size bottles almost anywhere. Fill one with your favorite sunscreen and others with any other products you rely on. And grab a green-tinted foundation to help with flushing, just in case you do go for that champagne toast!

Remember your medication. It’s easy to lose track of your routine in all the hubbub. Be sure to pack your medication and set a reminder on your phone to ensure you don’t miss a dose.
